However, investing in hedge funds brings unique risks, strategies and complexities, substantial resources are required to analyse thousands of hedge funds to find the best. As a leading hedge fund, investing approximately $8.5 billion globally on behalf of institutions and investors, information is pivotal in everything we do. We needed to formulate complex strategies on all our data, internal and external, ensuring our risk approach is appropriate and compliant. Adjusting the financial instruments and vehicles based on market data within our portfolios and funds is paramount to our business.

Industry:Mining

Categorising and placing a value on approximately 40% of the world´s rough diamonds by value has become increasingly demanding. There are over 100,000 ways of classifying a rough diamond and as we go through the many sorting processes, the classification will change. The accuracy of this classification is paramount, it provides us with the information on what we can supply to our customers.

Having global operations in many remote regions and sales offices throughout the world, we have a multitude of individual Business Intelligence software solutions that are deemed mission critical with a significant run rate cost. We need to reduce these costs by 60% and standardise on a single solution that will meet our operational and strategic needs.

Industry:Manufacturing

A significant challenge in making the right purchasing decisions for thousands of tonnes of commodities such as rice, oil and flour is not having the right insight into your customer, demand and supply chain data. Several ERP solutions have been implemented in various countries, managing hundreds of SKU´s and distribution to thousands of customers. Demand is increasing and the group has an aggressive growth strategy, customer satisfaction and purchasing is our highest priority in the current climate.

With over one hundred employees in Europe that have decision making responsibilities we need information we can trust, information needs to be a key enabler for the group.

Having experienced many years of growth and implementing sales channels for Retail, Trade, Direct and the Internet, obtaining an insight into our data globally has its challenges. There are 10 different applications with many instances running on 6 different databases and 4 operating systems. It takes weeks of manual effort and manipulation to obtain a global view, a view that we be outdated as soon as it was compiled.

We needed to overcome these system complexities and achieve a cost effective global view, focusing on our immediate business priorities around manufacturing and having the flexibility to scale in the future.

When you are the largest employer in the world, providing a mission critical service to millions of people, having the right information at the right time is key to managing your operational, corporate and national strategy. The NHS deploys many key and complex systems that are pivotal in patient care, understanding the data held is crucial in monitoring the level of care we are providing patients.

The development of clinical dashboards was a key recommendation from both Lord Darzi´s Next Stage Review (NSR) and the Health Informatics Review.

One of the largest transformational projects in the UK, this leading financial institution embarked on a two year programme to transform its front and back end processes. The goal was to provide a shared service for the corporate lending division, standardising on back end systems, compliance to regulation and providing the group with the insight into the groups data to improve financial performance.
